Game of Thrones is still making people highly uncomfortable and, to be frank, angry. It’s gotten so bad that now, what with the amount of “rape as character development” the show tends to engage in, with Sansa Stark being the latest victim, The Mary Sue has decided to withdraw their support of the show.

I have never been a fan of Game of Thrones; I couldn’t get past the first episode for many reasons, chief of which being the horror at seeing two siblings have rough sex with each other. But despite all of the horrors of the show (so much so that I can’t even get into it as much as everyone else seems to), I do know there are some fan favorite characters, such as Tyrion Lannister, Brienne of Tarth, and Khal Drogo, played by Jason Momoa.*

Momoa is good-looking yes. That’s one reason he’s the MOC Monday. The other reason is that he’s shown his acting chops in more than just Game of Thrones. He’s currently starring in Sundance TV’s The Red Road and, of course, he’s making his way into movies. We’ve got The Magnificent Seven remake coming up, Sugar Mountain, The Bad Batch, as well as those much-hyped DC films, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Justice League Part One, and Aquaman. As you can tell from the last film title, in all three DC films, he’s playing the superhero of the Seven Seas, Aquaman. You might remember the teaser poster released a while ago.

*I’m wading into the lion’s den even asking this, but is Khal Drogo considered a rapist, too? I’ve been reading opinions, and people seem to be divided on the matter. My opinions on Drogo are neither here nor there since, like I’ve said, I’ve only seen the first episode. But in general, the Game of Thrones world relies too much on problematic sexual situations anyway, so much so that it makes me wonder what kind of message George R.R. Martin is trying to put out with these books. What’s the point?

Also, if you care, Martin has come out with a statement on the problematic Sansa scene.
