Disney is looking to return to a galaxy far, far away with a new Star Wars sequel trilogy, possibly set after the initial sequel trilogy, starting with The Force Awakens. Former X-Men film series producer Simon Kinberg will assist alongside Lucasfilm alum Kathleen Kennedy. This trilogy will start a new saga featuring Rey Skywalker’s (Daisy Ridley) New Jedi Order. His experience with the X-Men films will surely help make this new trilogy of films reignite interest in Star Wars after numerous mediocre projects such as The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian Season Three, and the 2019 billion-dollar bomb, The Rise of Skywalker. For now, Lucasfilm is looking to focus on the release of the Disney+ series Skeleton Crew and a full-fledged The Mandalorian & Grogu film in 2026.
