The internet has grown up and now don’t claim Oscar Isaac as its boyfriend. Now, Oscar Isaac is the internet’s hot, scruffy husband.
In a now viral tweet, @bigtylr wrote about how Isaac‘s potential is currently being wasted on Hollywood, but isn’t going to waste on Isaac’s fans, who are definitely salivating over his current “hot professor” aesthetic.
“Oscar Isaac is at the absolute ZENITH of his professorial problematic hot professor zaddy hotness, and the fact that we are not forcing that man into sweaters and cardigans and making him do quiet domestic dramas is actually breaking my mind,” he tweeted.
“That Scenes from a Marriage series actually highlighted this problem for me because, like. What in the world?” he continued. “Why is that not simply what he is doing all the time? Where are the scripts? Where are the SCRIPTS?!”
Many in the comments agreed, with people referencing Isaac’s stage turn in Hamlet and his starring role in Inside Llewyn Davis.
“His performance of Hamlet a few years ago was almost entirely him in a rumpled chunky-weave cardigan and briefs, doing violence to a lasagna,” wrote one Twitter user. Another wrote, “Ok but have you SEEN him in Inside Llewyn Davis? Because that’s what that is and it is lovely.”
Another tweeted a picture of Isaac looking rumpled with the hilarious caption, “Did you even read the syllabus?”
Another tweeted a gif of Isaac in a chunky cable-knit with the caption, “I mean[.]” Enough said.
Prior to Isaac being cast by the internet as everyone’s hot college teacher, the internet wanted Isaac to become the next Gomez in a live-action reboot of The Addams Family. While he is Gomez in the new animated Addams Family movies, many consider it a waste of his perfect-for-Gomez looks and love for campy humor. But perhaps a dark academia-aesthetic movie is right around the corner to help us fulfill at least one of our collective fantasies.
