All right, a new episode of The Irrational Season Two premieres tonight after a hiatus from last week. Before that happens, it’s time to recap what happened with Alec Mercer (Jessie L. Martin) and what the company was up to previously. So, let’s take a little trip down memory lane involving a wedding mystery similar to the case seen on the popular anime show Case Closed.
Episode Four Formal Ties finds Mercer, his ex-wife/FBI agent Marissa (Maahra Hill), and research assistant Rizwan (Arash DeMaxi) invited to a wedding ceremony at the Italian Embassy by a longtime friend, Cosmo (Nikolai Tsankov). However, instead of celebrating his daughter’s wedding, he’s concerned that someone is trying to kill him.
Through several revelations, Mercer and Co. find out that the person who is attempting to kill Cosmo is security detail man Matteo (Alessandro Miro), who has a relationship with the embassy ambassador Bruno Conti (Rafael Petardi). He wanted to murder Cosmo due to his relationship with Italy’s conservative president and their policies concerning same-sex partnerships. Mercer gives Cosmo a chance to reunite with his daughter now that he is willing to leave the confines of his embassy.
Meanwhile, Phoebe (Molly Kunz) and Mercer’s sister Kylie (Travina Springer) find out that Professor Rachel Myers (Jennifer Lines) is not only a plagiarist but is harboring dirty money to fund her sinister projects. Kylie warns Phoebe that there will be a fallout if she alerts the dean of her misdeeds. Phoebe does tell the dean about what Professor Myers has been doing, which is good and probably bad for her now that she might have a target on her back.
Okay. Well, things are shaping up so far in this season. While the day-to-day cases are fun to watch, it seems as if Phoebe’s side story will intersect with Alec’s journey with the possibility of a scandal at Wlyton University. How it will turn out, it’s sure to be an exciting watch!
