Fall season is here and it’s time for ghosts, goblins, and little kids to dress up in costume for their candy around this time of year. Marvel Studios is also doing just that as they released their two-episode premiere of Agatha All Along. It does feel like a tradition for Marvel to do a two-episode premiere to get audiences ingrained into their stories. It is cool that the villain of WandaVision is getting her spinoff show set in WestView again. Wouldn’t it be funny if the final scene of ‘The Multiverse Saga’ would somehow have the heroes reconnect together at WestView to bring it full circle? That would be poetic. Anyway, let’s dive into this two-episode premiere recap.
Episode One ‘Seekest Thou The Road’ finds WestView stuck in an enchantment where the people including Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) are in a crime procedural series. She begins to piece together what happened to her when she almost wrote the word “Darkhold, ” the powers she once had until Wanda Maximoff defeated her. With the sudden appearance of a woman named Rio Vidal, she’s led to the coroner’s office where Maximoff’s body is laid. Harkness begins to release herself from Wanda’s three-year-enchantment as it leads to Marvel’s first-ever nude scene. Soon after, she and Vidal (who’s the Green Witch by the way) fight each other for a brief moment until Harkness pleads to get her powers back on the infamous Witches Road. Before leaving, Vidal warns Harkness that the Salem Seven are seeking retribution. The only person who is sort of keeping her company is a goth teen (Joe Locke) who is her number one fan.

Episode Two ‘Circle Sewn with Fate/Unlock Thy Hidden Gate’ picks up immediately after episode one with Harkness and the goth teen hitting the road. She realizes that some magical enchantment is preventing the goth teen from revealing his real name. She recruits other witches like Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone), Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), and Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn) who all have personal reasons for tagging along on this trip. The last person they need is a green witch, whom Harkness requests her fellow WestView neighbor and gardener Sharon Davis (Debra Jo Rupp) as her replacement since Vidal and she are not on good terms. They sing the ritual to open the path to the Witches Road while the goth teen sees shadowy figures haunting the streets of WestView. With the ritual complete, the gang begins their trek on the Witches’ Road.

So far, the series is off to a good start, I’m curious as to how this show will fit into the rest of the MCU going forward. It is a decent Halloween-centered show given that spooky season is here. But how will it factor into the multiverse shenanigans the universe is dealing with at this point? Will we even see a resurrected Scarlet Witch at the end of the series? Who knows? The only way for us to find out is to keep tuning in every Wednesday on Disney Plus!
