House of Spoils is a new Blumhouse original film starring Ariana DeBose as a chef whose ambitions begin to exceed her grasp, quite literally and psychologically. This film is almost similar to 2022’s The Menu, except it’s not the entire kitchen staff exhibiting a cult mentality. The out-of-the-boondocks farm-to-table estate and its ingredients are the true danger here. I am starting to become a fan of horror films set in the restaurant industry because I grew up watching Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares which show true horrors when the property or foods are mismanaged badly. This looks like an entertaining watch on Prime Video. Now I’m waiting for a horror film inspired by Bar Rescue. Here is the official synopsis and trailer:
Hope you’re all still hungry. From Blumhouse Television comes #HouseOfSpoils – starring Ariana DeBose, Barbie Ferreira and Arian Moayed, streaming on Prime Video October 3rd.
House of Spoils follows an ambitious chef (Ariana DeBose) who opens her first restaurant—a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate—where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor, crushing self doubts… and the powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner who threatens to sabotage her at every turn. House of Spoils is a tense, psychological and sensuous thriller that will leave hearts pounding and mouth watering.
