ATLAS stars Jennifer Lopez as a brilliant, but untrustworthy artificial intelligence-data analyst in an intergalactic manhunt for a robot (Simu Liu) that threatens the human race. But when she gets marooned on a distant planet, she has to trust the robot she is piloting to accomplish her mission. This might be an enjoyable watch, but this is Netflix we are talking about. The film feels like, through the lens of this movie, the company is trying to gaslight the writers again on the movie’s premise that “her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it”. I hope I’m not the only one who’s reading between the lines on that one. Here’s the official trailer and synopsis:
