Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment announced Jurassic World 4 is in the works. The fourth installment in the Dino franchise is being written by David Koepp. Koepp penned the 1993 original film and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Not much information has been revealed to the public, but the studio teases it as the beginning of “a new Jurassic era”. The Jurassic Park franchise has made over six billion dollars worldwide but had negative receptions of its sequels following the original. The latest film, Jurassic World: Dominion, earned its billion-dollar success but is the worst Jurassic film yet. It’s plot hinted at humanity being overrun by dinosaurs thanks to the end credits of 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, was a complete misfire as it switched gears on genetically engineered locusts threatening the world instead of the dinosaurs. Maybe this time, it will live up to the promise of a “Jurassic World” and not keep beating a dead horse like The Fast and the Furious franchise.
