Alicia Keys Makes Special Recording With Diverse Musicians For ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is celebrating Black excellence through its soundtrack. Netflix has recently released a music video with Alicia Keys and Black musicians from around the world performing the orchestral version of Keys’ hit, “If I Ain’t Got You,” as heard in the series.

Keys and Queen Charlotte‘s Global Orchestra, a 70-piece orchestra made up completely of women of color, recorded a new version of Keys’ hit for its 20th anniversary. The orchestra is conducted by South Africa’s first Black female conductor Ofentse Pitse.

The recording also features Black musicians from around the world, including RIMON from The Netherlands, Cherrie from Sweden, Amel Bent from France, Alicia Awa from Germany and Delara from Norway. Diane Martel, who also directed the original music video, is back to direct this video. The full video is below.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, currently streaming on Netflix, stars India Amarteifo as young Queen Charlotte, who changes society by virtue of becoming queen and exposing a society to racial tolerance and acceptance. According to the official description:

Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
