Hello Internet! I am back with another Ms. Marvel recap but before we dive into the third episode (and the halfway mark of the series), let’s talk about the MCU now that Kamala Khan (Imani Villani) has entered the fray. This series is such a great evolution for the MCU and has been thoughtful in how it’s giving audiences a good look at what Kamala’s role will be in The Marvels coming out next year. Without further ado, let’s recap!

Episode 3, “Destined,” introduces a group of powerful people known as the Clandestines, aka Djinn who were banished from the Noor dimension, led by Najima (Nimra Bucha), Kamran’s mother. She tells Kamala that the bangle could help return them to the aforementioned dimension. She tries to convince Bruno (Matt Lintz) but, like how Wong tried to warn Doctor Strange about the multiverse, Bruno warns her that interdimensional travel is dangerous. He also lets her know that he got into Cal Tech, which could split them up.

Meanwhile, Kamala’s brother Aamir (Saagar Shaikh) marries his fiancé Tyesha (Travina Springer), but the wedding is interrupted by Kamran warning Kamala that his mother and the Clandestines are coming for the bangle. After a brief scuffle, DODC (Department of Damage Control) arrives on scene to arrest the Clandestines while Kamala and Kamran escape before Nakia sees the latter’s powers. Kamala’s grandmother, Sana (Samina Ahmad) calls her to tell her to bring herself and her mom (Zenobia Shroff) to come to Karachi after seeing the same vision of the train from earlier.

This series has gotten better with each episode. Overall, the film seems like a cross between a Tom Holland Spider-Man film and a fun Lollywood movie that has increasing stakes. We only have two more episodes, and I am anxious to see how it all unfolds. Hopefully, Kamala’s mom will let her become the superhero she needs to become. See you in the next recap!
