No Kid Hungry wants kids to know summer meals are available!

No Kid Hungry is an organization I’ve been interested in for a long time, so I’m thrilled to finally work with them as an online partner! Even though we live on a plentiful and bountiful planet, too many people in this country, much less the world, go hungry when they don’t have to. It’s my hope that some of you, my readers, will focus on helping No Kid Hungry or reach out to at-risk kids in your life.

Today kicks off Summer Action Week, and according to No Kid Hungry, the organization’s  summer meals sites hit a “summer slump” and participation tends to drop after the July 4th holiday. Kids 18 and under need to be aware that meals are still being served, so make sure to let your circle know that when someone texts FOOD or COMIDA to 877-877, they will receive information on the summer meals closest to them. No Kid Hungry is hoping that the number of kids eating meals at sites will actually increase after the holiday, and letting families in your area know that food is available will help No Kid Hungry get to their goal!
