The first teaser trailer for Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance is here, and it’s totally meant for you to curl up with a good cup of tea and a blanket and live vicariously through Parisa Fitz-Henley as Meghan Markle.

There’s also a great still from the film that really drives home that this Lifetime movie is all about selling the dream of audience.

As I’ve written before on The Huffington Post, I am fully aware of the problematic nature of the Royal Family. AND YET, I am ready to watch this Lifetime dramatization of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship. We’re all sold (wrongly or rightly) on the idea of the regular girl getting the prince of her dreams, and of course, nothing sells that dream more than when it happens in real life. It only makes it seem that much more tangible.

Of course, marrying a prince and having a Cinderella-type life trajectory is like finding a needle in a haystack. Often, we have to make our own happily ever after come to fruition in whatever way we can. But still, that story we were sold as kids–that a beautiful prince can sweep us off our feet and carry us into a life of luxury and leisure still resides and still plays on our subconscious mind. Heck, I’m not gonna lie and say that I’m not still hung up on the possibility of being the Brandy Cinderella to someone else’s Prince Charming; I mean, I used to wear braids and I, too need a Fairy Godmother to help me put my closet together!
