Here’s a film that you might not have heard about until now. Focus, starring Margot Robbie and Will Smith is coming to theaters Feb. 27,
2015! The film, which also stars Rodrigo Santoro and Gerald McRaney and is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, involves cons, deceit, and, somewhere in there, love.
Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop…and the consummate con man off his game.
One would assume that Robbie and Smith’s involvement in the film also possibly led to them being shortlisted for the DC film Suicide Squad. Warner Bros. and DC do work together, so it makes sense that Robbie and Smith will be paired together again in a superhero movie.
